About

London Museum Docklands is one of the very few East London museums. Home to nine galleries ( or shall we say rooms ) you can visit in person, with each one exploring a different theme of London's river, port and people – all free to visit.

The highlights? Well where to start. The museum is home to the Buxton table, table that was used by members of the Society for the Mitigation and Gradual Abolition of Slavery to draft the Abolition Bill of UK!.

Not for the squeamish, but they have a grisly mummified cat ( that is over 130 years old ). Still not impressed?

They have a 1/96 of the SS Great Eastern, Isambard Kingdom Brunel's gigantic ship, designed to serve the India and Australian trades. And if that is not enough why not visit the museum and see for yourself. After all it is free ;)

The London Museum Docklands, based in West India Quay, is a fun nice and small museum that not only explain the growth of Port of London and the docks' historical link to the Atlantic slave trade, but also inspires you just with enough energy to continue the day.
